If you look for a cheap mattress, you have come to the right place. In this Sonno Lite mattress review, I talk about this super affordable option from the Malaysian maker. After releasing the popular Sonno Original, they decided it was time to develop an even more affordable option.
The Lite mattress features a foam-only construction and it is designed for people that want a good-quality mattress but don’t want to spend much. As you expect, it will come packed directly to your door so you won’t have to pay any middlemen. Mine arrived almost ten days ago so let’s move to the full review below.
What is inside this mattress?
The Lite mattress has a very simple design and it features 2 layers plus the cover. These are:
- A memory foam layer that has excellent contouring properties. It’s there to provide your body with the needed pressure relief. Additionally, it’s designed to minimize motion transfer.
- A support foam layer that is durable and strong. It works as the base of this mattress and it’s designed to prevent sagging.
This mattress has a low profile and it measures 18cm in height. It comes with the CertiPUR-US certification so it’s free from harmful substances.
How good is the cover?
The cover of this mattress is made of soft knitted cotton fabric. They went with this material as it’s very breathable but also has thermal regulating properties. Additionally, it’s hypoallergenic and dust-mite-proof. The design is a simple one and it features a white colour while the surface has a nice lined pattern. The cover feels soft and looks of great quality. Unfortunately, it’s not removable and if you want to clean it, you should probably use a steam cleaner. Overall, this is a nice cover and at this price, I didn’t expect anything more.
Is this a firm mattress?
It’s time now to continue writing this Sonno Lite mattress review and talk about its feel. Most boxed mattresses are intended to suit the average sleeper and this one is not an exception. If I use my virtual scale here, I would say it’s a 6.6 with 10 being really firm. Let’s see now how the Lite mattress did for me over the past 10 days.
Starting as always from the back position, the mattress felt comfortable but pressure relief was average. However, I was well-supported which is what you want from a cheap mattress.
Turning to the side position, the foam layers reacted quickly and I didn’t have any discomfort in my hips area. My spinal alignment was relatively good and I was comfortable in this position.
Finally, moving to the front position, the mattress was not as supportive as I would like and I felt that a firmer feel would be better suited for me. However, if you are on the lighter side, this can be good for you.
The Lite mattress has below-average edge support but this is expected from a mattress of this kind. On the other hand, it has minimal motion transfer so it can be a good option for couples who want to get rid of the annoying partner disturbance.
Will I pay for delivery?
The good news is that all Sonno mattresses come with free delivery. The service is a fast one so you will receive your mattress within 2 working days. All mattresses are delivered inside carton boxes just like the one pictured below. After it’s delivered, all you have to do is unroll it and let it decompress. After 24 hours, your Lite mattress will be ready for use and you can start sleeping on it. In my case, the mattress came on time and the courier was very polite. The process was straightforward and the box arrived in great condition. My experience was good so I don’t have any complaints to report here.
Can I try it first?
Buying a mattress online can feel like a risky move for many people. For this reason, most makers offer a trial period these days and Sonno is not an exception. If you buy a mattress from them, you will get a 100-night trial period that gives you more than 3 months to try it and decide later whether you want to keep it or not. If you are not happy with your purchase, you can return it and get a full refund. All you have to do is contact them and they will arrange everything for you.
Besides the trial period, the Lite mattress also comes with a 10-year warranty which is the standard these days. To find out more about it, make sure you read the full terms and conditions. Overall, this is a great support package so no complaint at all.
Is this an affordable mattress?
The Sonno Lite mattress is arguably one of the most affordable mattresses that you can buy in Singapore. The smaller size (Single) will cost you $599 while the bigger one (King) goes for $899. The mattress is available in 4 sizes and the table below has information about the dimensions and prices.
SIZE | DIMENSIONS | PRICE |
Single | 190 x 90 x 18cm | $599 |
Super Single | 190 x 107 x 18cm | $699 |
Queen | 190 x 150 x 18cm | $799 |
King | 190 x 180 x 18cm | $899 |
Should I buy the Sonno Lite mattress?
This is always a tough question to answer but I will do my best since I am ready to complete this Sonno Lite mattress review. In my opinion, this mattress can be a good option for those looking for:
- A cheap mattress that is good for back and side sleepers.
- A memory foam mattress that has minimal motion transfer.
- A mattress that comes with great service from a name you can trust.
If this is what you look for, then the Sonno Lite mattress should be high on your list. This is not the best mattress that I have reviewed but at this price, it can be a great choice for guest rooms or as the first mattress for young adults.
