Woosa Original Mattress Review

woosa original mattress review

Woosa is a popular maker in Singapore and they have a mattress range that includes three options. In this Woosa Original mattress review, I talk about their best-seller to help you decide whether this is an option you should consider.

This is a foam-only option that combines latex with memory foam and the result is an interesting one. All Woosa Original mattresses are made in Belgium and then packed inside carton boxes before they are shipped to you. My Woosa mattress was delivered almost two weeks ago so it’s time to move to the full review below.

What are the layers of this mattress?

This mattress is made of 4 layers plus the cover. In detail, these are:

The Woosa Original mattress measures 30.5cm in height and the picture below shows us how each layer is positioned.

Does it have a nice cover?

One of the most interesting things about this mattress is the fact it comes with two cover options. The standard one is a microtencel cover that feels soft and plush. It features silver threading that adds antimicrobial properties and odour reduction. If you are willing to spend around $300 extra, you can upgrade to a PLUS+ cover that is made with a blend of microtencel and cooling yarn. This is a quilted cover that includes an organic cotton layer for extra comfort. Moreover, it has a low-friction construction that doesn’t generate extra heat. This is great, especially for humid climates like the Singaporean one.

Both covers are made in Italy so you should expect excellent quality here. Unfortunately, the cover is not machine-washable so if you get it stained, you should spot-clean it with mild detergent. Moreover, the cover features no handles so it’s not that easy to move this mattress. This is another drawback here and it’s a shame that makers don’t think practically. Overall, both covers don’t lack quality but they lack practicality.

Is this a firm mattress?

I am ready to continue writing this Woosa Original mattress review and talk about its feel. This is a medium-firm mattress and if I use my virtual scale here, I would say it’s a 7 with 10 being really firm. I want to talk now about my experience with it during the past two weeks.

Lying on my back, the mattress hugged me but I didn’t feel I was sinking into it. I was comfortable in this position and I felt there was no pressure on my joints.

Turning to the side position, the mattress adjusted quickly and that impressed me. Usually, foam-only mattresses are much slower. Sinkage was ideal for a neutral spinal posture and I felt very comfortable sleeping this way.

Finally, moving to the stomach position, the sleeping surface wasn’t as firm as I would like and I felt that another mattress could do a better job in this position. For example, the Origin Hybrid Pro mattress would do a better job.

If you sleep with a partner, the good news is that this mattress has minimal motion transfer. This is expected from a foam-only mattress so you won’t disturb each other. On the other hand, the edge support is average but nothing that would worry you too much.

Do I have to pay for delivery?

The short answer is no. If you order a Woosa mattress, it will be delivered for free to your doorstep. They have a relatively fast service so you should expect your mattress within 1-3 working days. In my case, it was only two and the process was a smooth one. The company informed me about the progress of my delivery and the courier was on time. The box is a heavy one so it would be wise to ask for help before you move it. According to the maker, you should leave your mattress in a well-ventilated room and the smell will dissipate within a day. Overall, I had a pleasant experience with them so no complaints at all.

Can I try this mattress at home?

Many people don’t want to buy boxed mattresses because they prefer to try them first. The people at Woosa understand that and for this reason, they offer a 30-night trial period that gives you a full month to try it at home. If you are not happy with its performance, you can return it and get your money back. I have to point out here that most other makers offer a 100-night trial period so there is definitely room for improvement here.

Additionally, the Woosa Original mattress comes with a 10-year warranty. To learn more about it, you should visit their warranty page. Overall, this is a decent package but I would prefer a longer trial period.

How much will it cost me?

The Woosa Original mattress is available in 4 sizes and it’s a relatively affordable one. The smaller size (Single) will cost you $1,349 while the bigger one (King) goes for $1,949. The table below has pricing information for all available sizes.

Single91 x 190 x 30.5cm$1,349
Super Single107 x 190 x 30.5cm$1,449
Queen152 x 190 x 30.5cm$1,749
King183 x 190 x 30.5cm$1,949

Is this an option I should consider?

It’s time now to complete this Woosa Original mattress review and share my final thoughts with you. In my view, this would be a great option for those looking for:

The Original mattress is an interesting latex option that is built for the Singaporean climate. It’s made in Belgium with high-quality materials and this is hard to ignore. If you sleep with a partner, this should be on your shortlist.
