Many sleepers in Singapore feel hot during the night so the need for a cooling mattress is big. In this Emma Diamond Hybrid mattress review, I will talk about this fantastic option that was recently released. It’s similar to the Emma Original Hybrid mattress but this version has some unique features that differentiate it.
Emma decided to release another hybrid option so you should expect a mattress that is well-balanced between comfort and support. Mine was delivered almost ten days ago so it’s time now to move to the full review below.
What is this mattress made of?
This mattress is made of 6 layers plus the cover. In detail, these are:
- A Diamond Degree foam layer that is infused with graphite. This allows it to wick the excess moisture away.
- A HALO memory foam layer that features 7 separate zones. That means that demanding areas (hips, shoulders etc.) will get tailored support but also pressure relief.
- A layer made of tall pocket springs that are supportive and have the ability to minimise motion transfer.
- An HRX foam layer that can distribute weight evenly. This layer also helps the mattress to last longer and not sag.
- An Emma base layer that improves edge support.
The Diamond Hybrid mattress measures 25cm in height and the image below shows us how it looks from the inside. It’s CertiPUR-US® certified so it’s free from harmful chemicals like VOCs, formaldehyde, and phthalates.
How good is this cover?
A cooling mattress like this one couldn’t come with a bad cover. The people at Emma decided to use an UltraDry cover that is breathable and can wick moisture away. Moreover, it has temperature-regulating properties which are very important, especially for a tropical climate. The cover has a modern design and it has nice vibrant green details. I need to mention here that this is a removable cover and you can pop it inside your washing machine to clean it. That means that you can maintain it with ease and this is something really practical. On the sides, the cover has 4 handles that allow you to move it when that is needed. This is a nice feature that is very useful. Overall, this is a high-quality cover that compliments this mattress.
Is this a firm mattress?
Let’s continue now with this Emma Diamond Hybrid mattress review and talk about its feel. This is a medium-firm mattress that is designed to suit every sleeper. If I use my virtual scale here, I would say it’s a 6.8 with 10 being really firm. It’s time now to talk about my experience with it for the past 10 days.
Starting from the back position, the Diamond Hybrid mattress hugged my hips and shoulders and I felt no pressure on my back. Support was great and my spinal alignment was neutral.
Turning to the side position, the springs reacted quickly and they did a great job supporting my hips and shoulders. Again, my spinal alignment was correct and I was comfortable sleeping this way.
Finally, turning to the front position, the sleeping surface was firm enough to support my chest and hips and I felt that this mattress is a great all-rounder.
As for the edge support, I didn’t have any trouble getting in and out of bed which is important, especially for couples. Lastly, the Emma springs are designed to minimise motion transfer so you won’t disturb your partner.
Does it come with free delivery?
One thing I really hate is paying for delivery. Thankfully, all Emma mattresses come with a free one that usually takes 1-4 business days. After placing my order, I received the mattress within 2 days and the whole process was quick and smooth. Emma informed me about the delivery date and time and I felt that I was dealing with a professional company. The other notable thing here is that the box came in excellent condition which is not normally the case with most boxed mattresses. Overall, I had a great experience with them and this is a maker I can recommend.
Is there a trial period?
If you decide to buy a mattress, you will get a 200-night trial period that gives you more than 6 months to try it at home. Returns are free so if you are not happy with this mattress, you can return it and get a full refund. All you have to do is contact their customer support and they will arrange everything for you.
Moreover, this mattress comes with a 10-year warranty that will cover you for a long time. This is expected these days, especially for all boxed mattresses. Overall, this is one of the best packages in Singapore so no complaints at all.
Is this an expensive mattress?
The Diamond Hybrid mattress is available in 6 sizes so there are plenty of options to choose from. Looking at the prices, the smaller size (Single) sells for $1,998 with the bigger one (King) going for $3,220. However, I need to mention here that the people at Emma run frequent promotions so you will pay less than that. For example, at the moment of writing this piece, a Queen size mattress would only cost you $1,066! Below, you can find a table with all the pricing information.
SIZE | DIMENSIONS | PRICE |
Single | 90 x 190 x 25cm | $1,998 |
Single XL | 90 x 200 x 25cm | $2,140 |
Super Single | 107 x 190 x 25cm | $2,442 |
Queen | 150 x 190 x 25cm | $2,664 |
Queen XL | 150 x 200 x 25cm | $2,748 |
King | 180 x 190 x 25cm | $3,220 |
Should I buy this mattress?
I am ready now to complete this Emma Diamond Hybrid mattress review and share my final thoughts with you. I think that this would be a good option for those looking for:
- A cooling mattress that is suitable for tropical climates.
- A hybrid mattress built for every sleeping position.
- A mattress that comes with excellent service and support from a name that you can trust.
If you are looking for all of these, the Diamond Hybrid mattress should be one of your top choices. It’s a great all-rounder that will satisfy even the most demanding sleepers. Its cooling mechanism is top notch and that makes it one of the best mattresses you can now buy in Singapore.
